Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about sourcing mold making and CNC machining services from China. If you don't find your answer below, feel free to reach out directly.
What is your minimum order quantity (MOQ)?
MOQ varies by process and material. For CNC machined parts, I can often support low-volume runs from 1–50 pieces. For injection molding, MOQ typically starts around 1,000 pieces due to tooling costs, but this is negotiable depending on part size and material. Send me your drawings and target volume and I will give you an exact answer.
How long does it take to get a quotation?
For standard parts with complete drawings (2D + 3D), I usually provide a quote within 24–48 hours. Complex assemblies or parts requiring detailed DFM review may take 2–3 business days.
Can I get samples before placing a bulk order?
Yes. For CNC parts, I can arrange prototype samples in 1–2 weeks. For molded parts, we go through tooling (T0/T1 samples) typically 3–6 weeks after mold design approval. Sample costs and lead times depend on part complexity.
What are typical lead times?
Tooling: 3–6 weeks. Production: 2–4 weeks after sample approval. Shipping by sea: 3–5 weeks to Europe/North America; by air: 5–10 days. Rush options may be available depending on factory capacity.
Do you offer factory audits?
Yes. I can conduct on-site factory audits including capability assessment, quality system review, equipment verification, and social compliance checks. A written audit report with photos is provided.
How do you handle quality control?
Quality control is built into every stage: incoming material check, first-article inspection (FAI), in-process monitoring, and pre-shipment inspection. I provide dimensional reports and material certificates with every shipment.
What payment terms do you accept?
Common terms are 30% deposit / 70% balance before shipment for tooling and production. For established clients, more flexible terms can be discussed. Payments are typically made by T/T (bank transfer) or PayPal for smaller amounts.
What shipping terms (Incoterms) do you support?
I support FOB, CIF, and DDP. Most clients prefer FOB (Shanghai/Ningbo/Shenzhen) for their own freight forwarder, or DDP for door-to-door delivery with duties and taxes included.
Can you handle OEM/ODM projects with confidentiality?
Absolutely. I understand the importance of protecting your designs. NDAs can be signed before sharing drawings, and all suppliers in my network are contractually bound to confidentiality.
What industries do you serve?
I have experience across consumer electronics, automotive, medical devices, industrial equipment, robotics, and home appliances. If your project involves precision manufacturing, I can likely help.
